Allah almighty has blessed us with numerous blessings, and one of them is our health.

Islam being the perfect way of live has not ignored the importance of physical wellbeing.  The Prophet of Allah, Muhammad (peace be upon him) has advised his companions of physical exercise such as swimming and horse riding. He himself, being humanities exemplary personality, not just regarding the inner depths of spirituality and closeness to Allah Almighty but also in the field of physical wellbeing was a fine example.

We find lessons in his blessed seerah (biography) such as when he was challenged by a powerful Makkan wrestler by the name of Rukaana and how the Prophet overpowered him with ease, during the battle of the trench we find the prophet digging alongside his companions although he was in his mid-fifties amongst many other stories of his unparalleled physical stamina and strength.

Now consider the plight of the average Muslim, overweight and unhealthy and ask yourself; how far are we from the Sunnah of the Prophet (pbuh)?
