Eid Party Sept 2011

Assalamu alaikum

SONY DSCAlhumdulillah, with the Might and Grace of the Almighty, we at Al-Qalam Institute were able to present a programme enabling our Muslim community to continue the joyous celebration of Eid-al-Fitr. The institute invited the numerous Muslim families within the locality and Alhumdulillah went on to accommodate 250 guests, with various activities planned and presented for the varying age ranges in attendance.

Activities included Bouncy Castles, soft play and face painting for the children, henna workshops for the women amongst others; as well as wrestling and food eating competitions for the gents. It was a pleasure to see the ‘olden Goldie’s’ actively participate and enjoy the programme as opposed to leaving the enjoyment for the young ones.

The main objective for the day was to continue following in the footsteps of our perfect guide Prophet Muhammad (SAW), which is to enhance good relations within the Ummah as well as persevere in spreading joy amongst the people for the sake of pleasing Allah SWT. The day was a success endorsed by the strong attendance, and further through the sounds of joy and happiness stretching throughout the premises. A day such as this in the path of the Almighty can only be a success with community involvement, but as Muslims, our belief affirms that nothing is achievable without the will and support of Allah, the Most Exalted.

At this point I must extend my gratitude to all our supporters and volunteers who tirelessly helped us prepare for the event and clear up afterwards. A special thanks to our young volunteers; the youngest being 9 years old helped packing the goody boxes for the children.

Finally, this party would not have happened except by the will of Allah and secondly by the unreserved willingness to please others, passion and foresight of our brother Wael Harby. May Allah reward him and all those who took part.
