Al Qalam Institute is a non profit Islamic educational organisation and was established in December 2006.

The Institutes primary objective is to provide essential Islamic education to the Muslims of Colchester and the surrounding areas. Our classes aim to enable our students to fulfill their religious obligations in a way that is acceptable to Allah Almighty and in accordance with the Sunnah of His final Messenger, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Al Qalam saw it’s first days in the premises of Colchester Islamic Cultural Association where it provided it’s services to children aged between 5 and 16. After 5 years and a considerable growth in the number of students the Institute relocated to it’s current premises on St Botolphs Street.

The Institute currently has 140 students enrolled for the weekend school and is in the process of launching courses and seminars for adults.

We aspire to provide a broader range of activities and facilities for the Muslim community as well as programs for Non Muslims. Further details will follow.
